The Project

In 2023, Georgia set a bold vision to become the capital of electric vehicle (EV) mobility in America. Achieving this goal requires more than building factories and infrastructure; it means cultivating a strong, skilled workforce ready to power the future of EV manufacturing. A website for this ambitious mission connects job seekers with clear pathways to jobs in the industry while also reshaping outdated perceptions of manufacturing as low-paying or undesirable work.

To take on this challenge, the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) partnered with Kalamuna to design a digital platform to serve as both a recruitment engine and an educational tool. The platform would need to do more than list job openings; it must inspire trust, demonstrate opportunity, and highlight the professionalism, safety, and innovation that define today’s EV careers. Acting as a central hub, the site bridges employers, training programs, and job seekers, plugging job seekers directly into Georgia’s EV future.

The Big Goal

The project’s success was built on a strong partnership with the TCSG team. From the start, they placed trust in our discovery process and leaned on our expertise to guide key decisions about site structure and content. One pivotal moment came when significant revisions to the content map were suggested. Rather than defaulting to compromise, we presented a clear, data-driven case for keeping the original user-centric design. The TCSG team recognized the strength of this approach and aligned with our recommendation. This moment reinforced a shared commitment: every decision would be made with the end user—and Georgia’s long-term workforce goals—at the center.

The Georgia Advantage

One of the clearest opportunities from our research was attracting talent from outside the state. To make Georgia’s benefits undeniable, we built a dedicated “Why Georgia” section paired with an interactive wage calculator. Together, these tools highlight the state’s quality of life, affordability, and economic incentives, while allowing users to instantly compare their current cost of living with what they’d need to earn in Georgia. This feature transforms a complex decision into a simple, personalized calculation and positions Georgia as a place to build a life, not just a place to find a job. Beyond recruitment, the platform supports the state’s larger economic goals by attracting investment and strengthening the pipeline of skilled EV workers.

Enabling a Path to a New Career

Finding the right EV job shouldn’t mean wading through endless job boards. The technical heart of the project is the sophisticated API integration with a third-party job listing service from GeoSolutions. Our development team engineered a high-performance system to process a massive and complex dataset of hundreds of thousands of job entries. Using a custom filtering method, the system identifies approximately 20 relevant EV job listings and seamlessly displays them as accessible, up-to-date content on the website. The portal offers a streamlined path for job seekers to discover and apply for EV careers, eliminating the need to navigate complex external sites. The system is designed to be nimble, ensuring that as the EV industry grows, the portal can easily scale to handle more listings and job types. This feature sets the website apart as a comprehensive EV career resource.

Changing the Face of Manufacturing

TCSG’s top audience concerns were career growth and clarity about work environments and day-to-day expectations. Our research revealed an exciting opportunity: to show their audience, especially students, that modern manufacturing offers rewarding, well-paying, and dynamic career paths. To do this we developed a visual strategy that showcases diverse people in a range of roles, highlighting the breadth of opportunities within the EV industry. The imagery emphasizes modernity, safety, and cleanliness, while capturing the beauty of Georgia’s communities and landscapes to appeal to out-of-state talent. Together, these elements reframe EV manufacturing as a welcoming and rewarding career path and inspire students to see themselves as part of Georgia’s EV workforce.

Final Thoughts

The new website is a win for both Georgia's economy and its residents. It empowers Georgians by providing a clear pathway to high-quality jobs and training through the extensive TCSG college network, and supports the state's efforts to become a major EV manufacturing hub by attracting businesses and investment. The final product is a modern, professional, and welcoming digital resource that directly supports a critical government initiative for workforce development and economic growth, and supports the people who want to live and work there.
